"success is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration" (Thomas Edison)
Bottom Line: Effort and Innovation might not be correlated.
Findings: The above provided chart was generated from the audit log in a cloud-based software prototyping tool. As a result of new found reporting ability, three weeks of my project are now available for analysis.
Analysis: I subjectively determined that three screens were the most innovative deliverables of our project. Subsequently, I correlated these innovative pages against audit log "action" on that page. For this analysis, "action" is inclusive of all activity types (create, review, modify, delete).
Innovation 1 - Tagging Requirements (About 1,000 Actions)
Innovation 2 - Split Screen (About 100 actions)
Innovation 3 - Responsive Design (not on radar)
Further Analysis is needed:
- I plan to explore the correlation between innovation and collaboration. Specifically, I am curious if the "Innovative" pages were all worked on in silos or a result of collaboration
- I plan to discover existing/validated metrics for objectively determining innovation.
